Celebrating 25 years of films & sales.SydneyNeter2016

SND Films is an international sales agent founded by Sydney Neter in 1994, selling award winning short films, tv-movies and wonderful documentaries. Even though you can’t say we’re specialized in one specific genre, we have been told that we have tasteful and well produced programs.

We are proud to be the exclusive agents for all of Bill Plympton’s animated shorts outside the USA. And of course other animated gems like the new animated short by the Oscar© Nominated Job, Joris & Marieke A DOUBLE LIFE, and the touching & award winning OBON by Anna Samo & André Hörmann.

We also picked up the strong LGBTQ Cinéfondation title RUBBER DOLPHIN by Ori Aharon.

The latest documentary includes the great doc on the always funny Billy Wilder NEVER BE BORING: BILY WILDER. And the revealing 2018 doc on Max Emden. The latest 2019 title will be REAL MEN by Hasko Baumann.

You can find us at all major festivals & markets like MipTV, Berlin, Rotterdam, HotDocs, Sheffield, IDFA, Palm Springs, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, TIFF and many others!

SND FILMS is based in the centre of Amsterdam, in the great area of  ‘de Jordaan’. So if you’re in the neighbourhood, call us and we’ll have a drink! Until then, enjoy and stay healthy!

Akiko Takakura is one of the last survivors of the atomic bomb explosion of Hiroshima. During Obon, she receives the spirits of her parents and is haunted by memories. Her father is an authoritarian and traditional man. Akiko’s childhood consists of constant rejections and beatings. But the horrors of the atomic bomb and Japan’s subsequent capitulation change everything. Finally Akiko experiences fatherly love in the midst of Hiroshima’s ruins.
